Riad la kahuna is in the Medina so is not accessible by car. We arrived late at night and the taxi driver walked us to the Riad- about 5 mins. The backstreets felt initially a bit scary but the area is perfectly safe. Mopeds / motorbikes drive around the narrow lanes but this is the normal mode of transport and is non threatening- you just need to move out of the way!!! The Riad was a sanctuary away from the hustle of the medina. Very welcoming, very authentic and very clean. Great rooftop terrace. Spacious rooms. Lovely ensuite with powerful shower. Good breakfast. The Riad is 10 mins walk from the big square and there are lots of restaurants nearby. We had an amazing stay.

I chose this delightful riad from it's name and location but the whole experience of staying here for one night was so much more than I expected. My charming room, Sahara, is colourfully decorated and looks out onto the courtyard. The room with adjoining bathroom was very clean and I found the bed comfortable and had a very good night's sleep. The riad is conveniently located a few minutes walk from Djemaa el-Fna, the Bahia and Badi Palaces, and the Mellah, but tucked down a quiet alley.. It was a lovely experience to relax calmly and be served mint tea as I sat in the cool, beautifully decorated seating area of downstairs while I checked in. I had returned from a full morning of negotiating the maze of the Medina in unseasonal 34 degree heat. I had arrived very early to drop my pack, and the next day returned after checking out and used the sitting area and facilities because I had a late flight. I received nothing but first class care and attention. I had my final breakfast here after a two week say in Morocco, and it was undoubtedly the best including delicious home made yogurt and rose petals decorating the table. I was a single traveller and would recommend Riad La Kahana to anyone (I always sneak a peek at the other rooms and I saw all but the roof-top suite). Thank you for a wonderful finish to my already amazing holiday. I cannot find the meaning of La Kahana. Can anyone help?

5 mins to Jemaa el Fna. Close to transportation links including bus, taxi, parking, carriage rides? Once found, its easy to remember using landmarks like the Koutoubia Mosque. I was sick when I stayed but despite that we received outstanding, attentive care from Ibrahim, Mohammed and Sihan. Not a perfect stay though - the breakfast was average continental Moroccan fare, although their homemade yoghurt was delicious. Also, they advertise a hot tub on their nice rooftop patio which we had wanted to use in the evening rather than going to a hammam, but after several hours the water just couldn't get even get warm. The room was small, well decorated and clean. The bathroom had a shower that had no door or curtains so watch the water. Bed was very comfortable.
