Approach to Riad rather disappointing but once inside the welcome was warm and friendly. At once felt at home. During our stay the staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. Especially Abdel manager, Hassin and cook Fatia. ( not sure of spelling) Breakfast was fine yogurt, freshly squeezed orange juice, selection of home cooked bread and jams mint tea or coffee. We ate dinner one evening and it was more flavoursome than other restaurants we ate in Bed rooms were small and not much cupboard space. Very dark definitely wanted more light, bed very comfy. Felt safe and everywere clean. Roof terrace a bonus. Easy walking to square and sites. As long as you are not wanting a modern sanitised hotel this Riad is great. Best thing by far is staff. Thankyou all. Stayed 4 nights 22/26 Feb 2020. Jane Gibson

Stayed here for 4 nights - typically Moroccan in style, comfortable enough, there is a roof top terrace which is nice to sit out on - the pool is too cold to bathe in. The breakfast each morning was made up of crepes, various breads and cake, fried egg and yoghurt- more than adequate! The Riad is about an eight minute walk away to the souks- you will be inundated with people wanting to show u the way - always keep a supply of small notes! We always felt safe but some other travellers on their own were asked for money ( in a threatening way). Staff all helpful - again keep money for tips!

Beautiful Riad Opale. My husband and I felt at home at Riad Opale. Yassin & Abdul are amazing young men. They are so helpful, so warm and so welcoming. Fatiha, an amazing woman, is an excellent chef! We ate a wide range of authentic, Moroccan dishes everyday (we chose Full board). We also did a cooking class with her! It was a fabulous experience, cooking cous cous the Moroccan way! As we cooked, we cracked jokes & learnt so much about Fatiha. Although language was sometimes a barrier, we picked up some French from the staff & we were able to teach them some English. The premises is very, very clean! Every day our bins are emptied, towels are dried, beds are made for us and anything that needs topping up was topped up. We had a little accident in our bathroom with our tap, so the water in the hotel had to be turned off to stop the water flowing in our bathroom. This did impact the other guests in the Riad but the staff sorted it out within 30 minutes. They were so helpful and assured us that everything was okay. Overall, the Riad is quiet even though it is near the very vibrant Souk and Jewish Market. It is located so well - only a 10 minute walk to the Jewish market & Souks, 10 minute drive to the airport & about 10 drive to the new city. Thank you Abdul for playing great music during the day - my husband and I throughly enjoyed it. It made us feel at home. My husband and I have definitely made friends for life and we cannot wait to return to Riad Opale in the near future.
