The Auckland Econo Lodge City Central is well located and within walking distance of most everything in the central business district. The hotel is clean, the bed was comfortable, and while the bathroom was small, it also was clean. The front desk personnel were helpful and friendly with advice on local restaurants and sights to visit. We would recommend the Econo Lodge City Central when staying in Auckland.

“Econo Lodge stay”
The hotel is a bit tired, but it is clean & well situated. All the stay were super friendly & helpful. The room was large, but the window was a bit small, hence the room was a bit dark. Lounge area downstairs was pleasant & comfortable.

Just wanting somewhere very central for us to attend Elton John concert we discovered this place which was right across from where the free buses were leaving. Friendly helpful staff, clean rooms, prompt attention to a small issue we had which resulted in no hesitation in changing rooms for us, good value buffet breakfast. We would definitely stay here again.

It is what it says on the label - and there's nothing wrong with that! This is low budget accommodation for those who really are sick of backpackers and just need a night or two in Auckland without breaking the bank. Yes, the whole place looks like it was trapped in the 60's, the floor is uneven, and the bathroom is spartan, but that's all you need when you're only up for a concert, etc. The service from the staff is good, there is breakfast available and quick check in and out. Don't knock it until you try it!
