“Signature hotel in central Oslo”
Scandic Byporten has become one of the most popular hotels in the central area of Oslo: It has excellent location, nice rooms, a wide portfolio of room types, and not alt least: everything is run smoothly by a service-minded staff. No wonder Byporten has been my preferred Oslo hotel since 2018.

“Hotel inside a shopping mall next to railway station”
The hotel is located at the Oslo central railway station, inside the Byporten shopping mall (with a gangway to the Mall of Oslo shopping mall). The hotel is located at the Oslo central railway station, inside the Byporten shopping mall (with a gangway to the Mall of Oslo shopping mall). The room was nice and good for 2 people and the bed was very comfortable. It's easy to go anywhere from here, as the trains, metro and trams all leave from Jernbanetorget. There is no restaurant at the hotel, only a bar with coffee, tea and drinks. The "kiosk" in the reception that almost every other Scandic has with sandwiches etc. does not exist. The breakfast is served in restaurant Egon in the shopping centre across the hall. In Egon there are a lot of stairs and it's quite a labyrinth. The breakfast itself is delicious. The room service at the hotel is also from Egon. We tried getting something to eat on a Friday night and called them, but they said serving room service is impossible when the restaurant is full. We were too tired to go anywhere anymore, so we ordered Foodora and got it from the reception. The fact that all food-related issues are via Egon doesn't really work. The space of the restaurant is not suitable for a hotel breakfast with a lot of people. The hotel is trying to cope with this by having you reserve a time for breakfast, which is not always handy (if you book at 9 but can't sleep after 7 etc.). The hotel is nice in and of itself, the staff was friendly and Oslo is great!

“Very pleasant stay!”
Excellent location for a city trip to Oslo! The staff is really friendly! Our room was a little bit small for 2 adults and 2 kids, but we didn't spend much time on our room, so it didn't bother us.
