“Pleasant Night's Stay”

We stayed here just one night and it was very pleasant. We were able to bring our luggage to the hotel early in the morning and they stored it until we checked in later in the day. We stayed here just one night and it was very pleasant. We were able to bring our luggage to the hotel early in the morning and they stored it until we checked in later in the day. The rooms were very comfortable and very quiet, the bathrooms had a bath and shower cubicle. Tea and coffee facilities plus a well stocked mini bar were provided. When we arrived we were presented with two Portuguese custard tarts and an individual bottle of port, which was a nice touch. No wine glasses were provided, just two fairly small tumblers. The WIFI worked well but was quite difficult to install. There is a buffet breakfast but its not worth the extra charge of 20Euros, there are several cafes in the surrounding area. The hotel is fairly central and its easy to access most places of interest from there.

Nice hotel in good location for local transport options. Reception staff friendly and professional. Breakfast choices a little limited but still good. Nice hotel in good location for local transport options. Reception staff friendly and professional. Breakfast choices a little limited but still good. Limited seating so you may have to wait for table to become free. We had some issues with housekeeping staff entering the room a couple of times without knocking, so worth making sure door is locked and do not disturb sign is on if you don’t want to be interrupted.

“Only the Bar prices were 5 star.”

This is not a 5 star hotel, I have stayed at many across the world and and this is definitely not one of them... On a good note the hotel was clean and the fruit at breakfast is up there, it went down hill after that... One of the lifts ( only two and with 8 floors) was out of action for all our stay, 4 days.....waiting parts was the the cry.. what a load of rubbish! The shower in our room leaked dreadfully, such that the floor was constantly covered in water a repair had been botched but not well enough. The bed was comfortable but to be fair I have stayed in better premier inn hotels, the outlook was absolutely lousy and the facilities were poor apart from the cloths steamer which was a delight. The towels were old in need of a change and forgive me but do towels in normal 5 star hotels get changed twice a day... The cooked breakfast was cold and often lacking of variety and on several occasions there were no fried eggs...not good. The bar prices were extortionate so much so we rarely drank there. The staff were friendly on reception but not at breakfast.. in fact they were 'Grumpy'..to be fair the breakfast ambience was not dissimilar to a Premier inn, cold and uninviting.. The location of the hotel is Ok and fairly central if you can get over the huge steep hill in either direction.
