My husband and I were looking for something more than a sterile business hotel. That’s why we spent our last two nights in South Korea at this decidedly hip hotel in Hongdae, which we were soon to discover was indeed a bustling, youth-oriented area teeming with university students, buskers, K-pop wannabes, and Instagram minions. Reinforcing its hipster identity, the hotel features a state-of-the-caffeine Blue Bottle cafe in the lobby with multi-level platforms. We booked the spacious Creator King Room for HK$2,021 or about US$260 per night. Compared to our first two nights at the Four Points Sheraton next to Seoul Station, this was definitely a more relaxing space at a more premium price. In our plush room, there was a sofa sitting area and a big bathroom with a nice shower area, always a plus. The staff was uniformly young and quite energetic, handling the check-in process with aplomb and our airport transportation without a hitch. The location was quite convenient with the Hongik University metro station just a stroll away.

Overall a very pleasant stay. Was heading to Jeju for a few days before checking in and requested to store my luggage which Jay from the Guest Center assisted with very swiftly. William from the concierge was also very helpful with storing our luggage. The room was really spacious and the welcome snack and gonggi toys was a nice touch. I wanted another one as it was so cute so I requested it through the mobile text and although they could not provide another one, Olivia helped to call to check where they sold the gonggi and even gave me the address which was so helpful. Lastly on the day of check out I needed a slightly later check out and Sebby from the front desk helped to extend it with ease. When I asked where I could buy the snacks that were in the room she went out of her way and offered to send some to the room, which made the whole stay really pleasant. Thank you Ryse team for such a great stay!!

“Trendy hotel right in the middle of Hongdae”

We stayed at the Ryse for 5 nights in late November. The location was great - in the middle of Hongdae and close to the subway, as well as the airport bus. Despite being close to the action, though, the room was quiet and we had no trouble getting rest. The staff couldn’t have been nicer and made our stay very pleasant. We loved our room for the comfy bed, sitting area, and double sinks in the bathroom - a must for any couple traveling together. We also loved the roof top bar, Side Note, which had superb views of the city. Would wholly recommend this hotel!

Easy to go to hotel, closed by bus station that directly coming from ICN Airport. the hotel showed colour and target really well. they has lots of restaurant near by hotel. “Excellent stay ”
Excellent stay in a modern and elegant hotel nicely located. Spacious rooms, good service, fine rooftop bar, amazing cafeteria in the lobby. Fast and reliable WiFi. Welcomed properly with my Bonvoy status. Highly recommended also because of the reasonable prices.
