My husband and I stayed here for 2nights a couple of weeks ago. Situated in a beautiful hamlet about 10 minutes drive from Cangas do Onis. The owner of the hotel really helped us with our day trips, drawing maps for me, booking taxis for Cangas (really easy - 7 euros). English isn’t spoken but I managed with my Spanish to communicate. Breakfast was delicious. Visited The lakes of Covadonga which are spectacular. Room was small but that didn’t concern us. The owner also told us about a restaurant in Oviedo “Tierra Asturias” which we went to and was fantastic! Would highly recommend staying at Espino.

We absolutely loved every aspect of this Hotel. From its rural location to the decoration and most importantly, the comfort and cleanliness of the rooms and the hotel itself; I highly recommend a stay of you like the countryside. The breakfast was excellent, with attention to details, with goods from the surrounding areas. The owners were extremely nice and were always concerned if everything was ok; they also provided lots of local and valuable information that enriched our stay! The best price/quality ratio I found up to now.

In planning our trip to Atlantic Spain, we decided to use this hotel as a basis for visiting Asturias (wonderful land), and this was a rewarding choice. If you travel by car, you can stay at el Espino and decide day by day whether to head for the wonderful mountains, the scenografic coast, or the old cities like Oviedo. And Jesus is kind, attentive and experienced in suggesting routes and places to see. Someone has pointed out that payment is due on arrival. Well I paid in full, two months before my travel, other two hotels, my plane and the rental for the car, so no problem for me! The room may be a little small but this is not a priority when I am travelling. Breakfast (included) is good and is served in a nice room. The hotel has a perfect location in a quiet village. Cangas de Onis is full of restaurants where you can have sidra and good food. Excellent hospitality for a very convenient price. And yes Jesus, we finally went to the Covadonga lakes, wonderful, thanks!
