This was the perfect spot for us. We were a 3 and they actually had a genuine and well appointed single room right next to a double. So close to the cathedral yet so quiet. Historic, comfortable and I wouldn't hesitate to book again. Worth noting it uses technology for check-in so there is no reception etc. but everything went very smoothly for us. Also worth noting that you can't drive to the front door, but we were not troubled with the walk through the old town with our bags.

Superb! I was gobsmacked when I read some other's reviews ... this is a gorgeous hotel with a very reasonable rate for the location. The self serve checkin was effortless, the location was smack bang in the middle of the old town surrounded by restaurants and bars. The room was incredibly comfortable with efficient aircon, English TV channels (rare from my travels in regional Spain), kettle, toiletries. If you want a 5 star room in a gorgeous location you will need to pay a lot more than this my friends! I would highly recommend this hotel and as a fairly regular visitor to Santiago (usually stay at Paradore) I would not hesitate to stay again.

“Pot luck with room allocation”
I was so disappointed. I was so disappointed. I am a returning customer and booked months ago yet ended up in the attic in a very small room ... the bathroom was so tiny it had narrow shower in the corner and nowhere to hang a towel or put anything. Not one English channel on tv. No lift had to carry suitcase up 4 flights of stairs. No staff to complain to. I ended up in the worst room in the place … so much for loyalty and booking early. Regular visitor to Santiago - never again.

“Hidden gem of a hotel”
This was a great find and has set us in good spirits for the camiño. Very central, beautiful old building with super rooms. Very comfortable and clean . 200m from the cathedral and beside many bars and restaurants. I did not give a 5 star as no elevator - lots of steps but well worth the climb!

We stayed here for 1 night, after completing the Camino Inglés. Pluses: - Excellent location in Santiago's Old Town, close to the Cathedral, and walking distance to everything (including the airport bus stop) - Quiet, clean, secure - In-room coffee and tea - Fridge in the room - Lovely old-world hostal feel - Lockers for backpack delivery (from the Camino) and storage - Comfy beds - Free, fast wifi Minuses: - There's no reception or personal welcome here. It seems as if in the pandemic, they adopted a self-check-in system (including the lockers) and never returned to personal attention. That's a shame, and also a pain because we had to hunt down a human to give us the codes for our lockers. Our backpacks had been delivered, but no one would tell us where they were, or how to get them!! Overall, I recommend.
