We love this hotel! Excellent location, right across the street from the old town quarter, just a few minutes walk to the majestic cathedral, restaurants, shops, bakeries, markets, cafes. Front desk reception staff were super helpful, warm, friendly. Check in was fast and easy, the lovely lady receptionist gave us informative instruction about breakfast which served in the bright, sunny breakfast room overlooking a gorgeous garden filled with gardenia, geranium, and also a bird aviary. Wonderful self-served breakfast buffet, with so many types of bread, pastries, cheese, meat, fried eggs, bacon, milk, coffee, juices, and tea. Heathy breakfast choices included cereal, muesli, oatmeal, natural yogurt, and fruits. Breakfast room attendants were very nice. We booked 3 rooms for 2 nights on the old, classy, charming 3rd floor of the hotel. Very comfortable beds (great for tired feet and bodies after our epic Camino Portugués walk!) with large, clean bathroom, luxurious bathtub, cool AC, desk, closet. There’s also an elevator! We didn’t have to drag our 8 suitcases up and down the stairs like at many old European hotels. On check out day, the lady receptionist arranged a taxi van to take our group to the airport. Definitely of one of most memorable, most wonderful hotels we’ve stayed on our month long trip across France, Portugal, and Spain. Highly recommend!

Excellent hotel ! We’ve been to Santiago a few times and this is by far the best hotel we stayed in . Our room was at the back in an annexe with a large communal balcony outside our room door with tables and chairs . A very pleasant shady spot to sit overlooking the beautiful garden . Our room was spacious enough with very comfortable double bed , hardwood floor and shower over bath . There is a bar which was lovely to have a couple of drinks in the evening after a day’s sightseeing. We didn’t eat breakfast there but it looked lovely . Plenty of tables and chairs outside to enjoy the beautiful gardens and weather it’s an oasis of calm in a very busy city . Hotel staff are so friendly and helpful, the best I’ve ever encountered in Spain . We left an item behind in our room on check out which they swiftly and efficiently arranged to be sent on to us in Ireland . Location is fantastic right across the road from the Abastos market we had fabulous seafood lunch there . We cannot wait to return and stay here again !!!

We stayed one night as part of a group tour (wild women expeditions) and an extra night on our own. The hotel is a beautiful historic hotel. The staff is outstanding, particularly Carlos at the front desk! We loved staying here. I gave it a 4 instead of a five because I guess I booked a standard room instead of a superior room for our second night so there was an €18 up charge to stay in the same room (fine) However, they did not tell us breakfast was included for the first night but not the second. I should have asked but charging €28 for two mediocre breakfasts was outrageous, I should have asked but DO NOT pay for breakfast here! There are many better cheaper places nearby! That took away from an otherwise fantastic experience! I want to say again how helpful and friendly Carlos was - he is a gem!

The hotel is well located for the old town and is about a 15 minute walk from the train station (we caught the bus from the airport, which drops you off at the train station). Our room was in the annex overlooking the garden so was very quiet with no road noise. The hotel itself is very traditional in design which I liked, but it may not be to everyone's taste (particularly if you prefer a more contemporary design). The room was simple but comfortable and the AC was effective. The bathroom was pretty basic and, in all honesty, should have been better for the price point of the room. Breakfast was excellent with a large selection of quality meats, cheese, breads etc. The view over the garden from breakfast was pretty and relaxing- it's easy to forget you're in the city centre. Staff were friendly and engaging throughout our stay.
