Passing through Zurich on the way to the ski fields, the Hotel Adler was a great choice for an introduction to Switzerland. The location in the Old City had easy walking access to the main train station, even while pulling suitcases, and made a perfect base for exploring the charming district. The included breakfast was excellent and the staff went out of their way to get my birthday off to a special start. We loved how the hotel decor features unique wall murals illustrating local streets and buildings in all the guest rooms. There is even an accompanying book providing historical insight into the locales depicted. For your dining experience, there are innumerable charming restaurants within easy walking distance or a short trolley ride away.

“Arisa is the best! The whole team is amazing. Will definitely come back again. Recommend it to all my Friends and family”
The hotel was amazing and we enjoyed out food in Swiss Chuchi Restaurant very much! Arisa made our stay enjoyable and went the extra mile. Alush and Jack served our table and did an amazing job. Vero and Nathan were Great Host. The room and the entire hotel is very historic and cozy.

Beautiful traditional hotel in the old town in Zurich. Lovely comfy rooms (loved the mini Toblerone on the pillow!). There is plenty of literature in the room to tell you about the hotels’ history and giving details of the hotel facilities and guides for different things. It is perfectly located if you’re coming in by train which we did (it’s about a 10 minute walk) and surrounded by shops and eateries. If you are only on a short visit (we only had a day and night in Zurich) you can visit most of the key attractions on foot from here so there’s no need to get on a team of bus unless you want to of course! As I couldn’t pre-book the restaurant in the hotel, I was a little worried that they wouldn’t be able to fit us in (it’s a very popular place) but luckily they did and my son and I had the Raclette which was delicious. Breakfast was included which offered a great selection. I’d recommend to anyone to stay here if you visit Zurich. It’s such a lovely place.

I booked this hotel far in advance during a flash sale because hotels in Switzerland are so expensive. It was nonrefundable but that worked out fine. The hotel staff were very responsive to my many email questions. I also reserved dinner at the hotel restaurant by email. I was running late coming back from Victorinox so I asked the store staff to call the hotel and they allowed me to push my reservations to later. They’re also helpful in booking taxis though those are super pricy here. Checkin and out were very fast and you can store luggage. The entrance has a few steps you have to carry your luggage up to get to the small reception. There’s a room behind with tables and chairs you can hang out. The best part is that it includes a fridge with drinks, free and unlimited. Water at the tourist sites are so expensive! I started bringing water with me when I went out. On Jungfraujoch one bottle standard size was almost $8!! The room I booked was the single room. It was small but had everything and was designed well to maximize the small space. Everything was clean. Pillow was too flat but there was an extra in the cupboard. There was one free glass bottle of water upon arrival which was not replaced since drinks were available downstairs. Bathroom was small but fine. The toiletries smelled too earthy for me I appreciated having hair conditioner. The walls are paper thin though so if you don’t have a quiet neighbor like I did, it’ll be a huge problem. When she was on the phone I heard every word through the wall next to my bed. Luckily I didn’t have a neighbor for most days and she went to sleep early so I was fine. Imagine this wouldn’t be the case during peak season. Blackout curtains were good. Location of this hotel is excellent. It’s a few minutes walk to the main Zurich train station and bus station for any excursions. It’s also next to the tram which I didn’t use. It’s right by the river so you have all the best views and can walk to all the main sites too. There are many nearby grocery stores and restaurants as well. It’s a 5 minute walk to Victorinox flagship store, which has more customizable options for the Swiss Army knife shell than any other store I checked. My group tour started at a hotel across town that had much nicer rooms but I would still choose this one for the location alone. They also leave a toblerone chocolate and card on the pillow which was a nice touch. They also give you a reusable fabric shopping bag which I loved.
