Excellent experience at this hotel. We stayed as a family of 3 for a quick city trip in Zurich. Our room was huge for the price we paid. Everything was very clean (and I am quite critical about hotel cleanliness), the beds and pillows were comfortable. The hotel is located less than 5 minutes from the train station with frequent quick connections to the Zurich main station. Also plenty of places to eat in the area, plus grocery stores. We had tickets to a show at Theater 11, which is about a 10 minute walk. They allow you to extend check out time until 13:00 free of charge, which was perfect for us to freshen up in the room before going to the theater. Only negative was the traffic noise—our room overlooked the main road. Inside the hotel, however, we did not hear any noice coming through the walls or from above from other rooms. I would stay here again without hesitation—next time I will request a room facing away from the street, though.

“Pleasant Surprise”
We only ended up staying here because we had a flight cancellation during a layover which left us in Zurich for a single night, unexpectedly. We only ended up staying here because we had a flight cancellation during a layover which left us in Zurich for a single night, unexpectedly. We booked this hotel in a rush, as hotels were being booked fast all over the city. The distance to the airport is not too far, but the taxi ride was very expensive. The hotel was all we needed, and a little more. It was clean and accommodating. We do have to give a shout-out to whoever was working at the hotel bar that night. We were exhausted from a difficult travel experience, and they made us feel very welcome, and we ended up going to bed that night feeling very happy about the choice of our hotel. Prost!

You don't have to be staying in-house to enjoy this surprisingly decent old-style cooking .. matched with friendly old-style service as a bonus! The surprise menu listing of the house specialty : MUSSELS : is indeed a showstopper-quite dazzling . & with many surprising sauce /combinations from which to choose...my husband fancied starting with a small serve of traditional with (utterly perfect) shoestring! pomme frites & mayo. Very good he opined! My Nusslisalat was competent only, by comparison. He went for calves' liver in cream as his main + roesti (disappointingly a bit 'wet'), whilst I went down memory lane with their rather weird version of Veal Codon Bleu >> it was all rolled up like a log! I shouldn't have minded except the "log" but it was just a tad overcooked, & so a little dry accordingly - especially disappointingly so with the cheese they used turning sold/hard as it cooled on the plate ...I asked for a light passata-style sauce to moisten it ..but they regrettably had none ..nor did they offer any solution. i made do with some nice mild mustard. we really loved the setting & the whole experience. But the high prices asked for food that wasn't quite right in detail/execution, make me hesitant to wholeheartedly recommend it . Perhaps the trick here is to stay with those super -looking mussels?..they seemed to be adored by everyone who'd ordered them! Anyhow, do give it a go > there's not much that's worthwhile on offer in this town..here's a welcome diversion from expensive mediocrity that you find just about everywhere else! Sadly.
