Let me start by saying I am not one of the great unwashed and don't agree at all with any of what recent bad reviews talks about. The location is perfect - literally for the same reasons as being very close to all amenities and a short distance from the motorways, but not close enough for you to hear any noise from them. That said we stayed on a Friday so if it is full of transient MOD workers - they weren't at the hotel on the night we were. Check in was almost instant. The chap on reception was super polite and friendly and we were heading to our room in no time at all. The room itself couldn't be better. The bed was perfect - the shower hot and the water pressure good. The towels clean and plentiful. We ate cross the road - separate review, and returned to the hotel and had one drink at the bar. The process as well was simple and enjoyable. Up in the morning, enjoyed the complimentary breakfast, which was better than most HIE places I have stayed. Checked out in record time and were on our way to our next destination. All round, nothing but full recommendations.

“New Year’s Eve stay”
Had a pleasant stay over for New Years with my boyfriend. Our room was upgraded and staff were very welcoming especially considering they were working new year’s eve. The room was very tidy and the bed was super comfy. Would definitely stay again next time we’re up in Bristol!

“Very clean and quite”
The place was extremely clean and well-maintained. Thanks for the very warm and thoughtful welcome! Parking was conveniently free during the Christmas holidays, which made everything even better. It will be our first choice for next trip

“Sort out the disabled parking ”
A little tricky to find. Used the postcode and ended up on a dual carriageway with my SatNav saying "your destination is on the right". Friendly professional staff, very welcoming and easy check-in. A little tricky to find. Used the postcode and ended up on a dual carriageway with my SatNav saying "your destination is on the right". Friendly professional staff, very welcoming and easy check-in. Reasonable size very clean room. Decent heating, very fast WiFi, comfortable bed. Didn't try the food. Very impressed with the hotel and room except for.....Went out for a meal and came back about 10pm. At that point, of the 8 disabled parking bays 3 were occupied by contractor vans and the other 5 by guests vehicles. Not one of these 8 vehicles was displaying a blue badge. I approached the reception staff and they said they couldn't do anything about it. I then had to park around the side of the hotel. The following morning, I saw that there are signs warning of fines and advising guests to approach reception staff if they see vehicles not displaying blue badges. What's the point if they don't do anything about it? The sign also gives contact details for the parking management company for enforcement, in the event reception staff aren't available. If that's possible, why don't the reception staff contact the parking enforcement. I was aware that this was an issue from Trip Advisor reviews but it's annoying when you have mobility issues and can't get into the disabled parking.

Parking is limited. Hotel has moved to electronic booking inn system. room was standard HIE normal however starting to looked tired. Breakfast most disappointing. They still refuse to mark food with either vegetarian sign or gluten free despite asking for this repeatedly on previous visits. They seem happy to tell you that a sausage equals so many Kals but not one that would make a coeliac seriously ill or compromise a vegetarians life choices. Finally the plates are cold and so was the coffee from the machine. All very disappointing. PS the staff were really friendly so a plus there.
