Stayed here last Saturday, able to check in early which was good. Heating on high so no chance of getting cold. Had the window open and wasn't too disturbed by the road noise. Lovely clean bedding and towels, bed comfortable and shared facilities clean. Reception and concierge staff lovely. Breakfast was nice and plentiful. Overall excellent value and location perfect. Yes the hotel is a bit dated but clean and polite staff.

I just wanted to say that the county hotel is extremely lucky to have such a lovely, hard working, kind lady named Julia to be working as a part of their team. Julia went above and beyond to help myself and my partner when booking.com booked us bunk beds instead of a double room. And not forgetting the other lovely ladies that work on the reception desk who unfortunately I didnt get their name. And thank you to Jean (sorry I dont know how to spell your name) the concierge who allowed us to use a room, shower and change for our evening out whilst Julia helped sort our new bedroom.

Look at the price before you start to criticise. We have stayed in more expensive airbandbs in London. You get a clean room with tea and coffee a wash basin and a TV. Ok you have to share the toilets and bathrooms that's the nature of price you are paying and don't forget you get a buffet breakfast. Our room was 221 unkluckly for us it was above The Resting Hare pub so it did get a bit noisy at night. I will say though it is closed at the weekends. Another thing to make you awer is that the doors slam which can disturb your sleep if someone forgets late at night. This is not the first time we have stayed here and it won't be the last.
