We went with a group of friends for a birthday spa afternoon and overnight stay. The room was lovely and bathroom was huge. We loved the gin decanter which was a nice touch. Tea and coffee facilities were good. ( We didn't need to move it, but I have no idea why people are complaining they had to move it to plug in- not unusual in my experience.) The spa isn't huge and the hot tubs did get bit crowded (the big one is too cold to sit in) but we all managed to make use of all the facilities. The pool is lovely but lacks seating areas around it and it was pretty cold on the Saturday. But was fine once you managed to get in. A large group of us had dinner in the restaurant which was good apart from a couple of minor issues. Breakfast was excellent. There was a nice selection of continental breakfast and we all enjoyed the hot options. Staff in all areas-reception, restaurant and spa were all lovely and really helpful. Location was excellent and for a spa hotel in London it was good value. Overall we had an amazing stay (though I am glad I didn't try to park) and would definitely come back.

My partner and I had an absolutely amazing stay here for two nights. The receptionist on arrival was incredibly friendly and helpful and gave us a quick tour of the hotel, so that we knew where the restaurant and spa was before pointing us to our room. Our room was absolutely stunning. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the mini bar was well stocked and everything was really clean. We had dinner in the restaurant the first night and the food was lovely, I had a burger and my partner had the ravioli and we both loved the food that we had. We used the spa the next day around 2pm and it was really quiet. We both used the hydro pool, the hot tub and sauna and steam, and it was absolutely incredible. The hydro pool left us feeling really relaxed. The hot tubs were really clean and comfortable, the sauna and steam were both really clean and smelt really nice as well. The spa was just brilliant we couldn't complain. The relaxation room was also gorgeous. The hotel is really well situated to either walk the half hour down to Richmond station or the bus is just around the corner. Richmond Park is a couple of minutes away. Whilst the roads are busy the hotel is incredibly quiet. It was just a perfect stay!

“Lovely stay while visiting Kew Gardens Christmas lights”

Had a really lovely one night stay here when we went to Christmas at Kew in December. The location is a little way from Richmond train station but there are buses you can get, and it also wasn't too difficult to get to Kew Gardens (approx 5 minute walk to a bus stop, then about 20 minutes or so on bus). At check in the receptionist was very helpful and our room was upgraded to a superior room which was good. The room was really nice, nicely decorated and had a sofa and nice view. Floor was a little wonky but think this was due to the age of the building. The bed was comfortable and we slept well in the room. The bathroom had a shower over bath and was pretty decent, the only thing was that there were some marks on the bath and the plug hole looked a bit grimy (see picture) and looked like bits of mould in some corners around the tap and shower end of the bath, this could do with a better deep clean. We had breakfast in our room which was a really nice continental breakfast. Unfortunately although we had left out the slip to order breakfast on our door in plenty of time before the cut off point, the breakfast didn't arrive when it was meant to. There was no sign of the slip in the morning outside our room and when we contacted reception they didn't have our order so I'm not sure what happened. Reception did take our order again though and we didn't have to wait too long for the breakfast to arrive, so that was good. I would definitely stay at this hotel again as it's not far from Richmond Park and not so far to walk into the centre of Richmond. It felt like a relaxing place and hopefully next time we will make use of the spa.

Our room was quite odd- the fridge & coffee machine were in a wardrobe- they didn’t work as they couldn’t be plugged in - therefore not fit for purpose! The gin in the beautiful decanter had “bits” floating in it. We booked 3 rooms to celebrate my husband’s birthday, on the day my 3 year old grandson became very ill, so my daughter couldn’t join us to celebrate. I asked at reception if they do anything by changing the date or offer a discount - nothing! The pool are only had 2 loungers in ?? Not a great spa. The relaxing spa cafe had laptops out where where staff were using it as an office.
