Not going to lie after reading reviews I was a bit skeptic and regretted booking this hotel even though this was a last minute get away ….I was wrong to a certain extent I cannot complain about any noise but this may be due to the time of year we had went, the hotel was only a 15 minute walk from the centre which was perfect for a daunder, we stayed in the chief chambers and all be it the room and bathroom was absolutely stunning and cosy the money we paid was a little over priced. The bathroom was modern with a large spa bath which was perfect for ‘me’ time, the bed was ridiculous in size I could not believe how much room we had, the bay windows however only one was able to open at night…..breakfast was included for the two days which can’t be faulted on we had the full Scottish breakfast which was luke warm along with the coffee but this wasn’t too much of a concern, all staff were very helpful and informative welcoming us both with a hello and smile each time we passed very professional and answered any questions we had. All in all I would give our stay a 7/10 thank you very much for a great weekend away

“Amazing!”

We arrived on our 30th Wedding Anniversary and immediately were given a beautiful room called Chief Chambers. The room was very special with a sunken jacuzzi bath, very grand and very comfortable. The room was the cleanest we have ever stayed in! I have asthma brought on by dust and I woke up absolutely fine. When we went to dinner, we were given a special table at the window in a quieter room so we felt like royalty. The receptionist, barman, waiter all were wonderful and the steak was delicious and perfectly cooked. Breakfast absolutely delicious and stayed hot. We will definitely come back - possibly making a special 123 mile trip specifically to stay here again. Don’t change, we will be back!

“Nice hotel with a good size room”
Nice hotel with all the things you want. We booked the family room for our family of six and it looked exactly like the pictures. The floors were a bit old and quite noisy which is charming but not so much when the guests in upstairs room dance and jump after a night out long after our bedtime 😬… more
Nice hotel with all the things you want. We booked the family room for our family of six and it looked exactly like the pictures. The floors were a bit old and quite noisy which is charming but not so much when the guests in upstairs room dance and jump after a night out long after our bedtime 😬 We were cold at night and there weren’t any extra blankets. The atmosphere in the restaurant were nice but not for families with small children but great for a quiet adult dinner.
