I stayed one night, and found that, the previous day, the staff had been told that the hotel was closing shortly, so they were more than a bit depressed.... The stay was excellent (as it had been previously) with good facilities, a large, comfortable room with lots of character, and a decent dinne… more

“Good trad establishment with huge rooms.”
Staff helpful and rooms were of the trad style..in a nice way. A nice cosy bar with a welcoming log fire in the hallway We didn't eat in the hotel apart from breakfast which was good and varied. I'd say that the exterior looks a bit tired but in no way affects ones comfort

We had a superb relaxed time in this 18th century hotel which has exquisite architecture and grounds The rooms were pl learnt and larger than normal for a Best Western The menu was traditional and we'll cooked although the service lacked a little
