The absolutely lovely LARRIISA Duty manager was so patient and helpful and allowed me to check In early , as i had just had treatment in hospital. Throughout the afternoon I popped down to ask for help printing which to be honest could of tested her patience but she was so helpfull. Thefront desk was busy at these time but she always welcomed me with a smile. I am tbh not fully tech savvy at which point Ben on reception was able with in 5 minutes to email and print the documents I had been trying all day to print . Thank goodness to BEN!! this hotel has a amazing team and made my experience amazing .

Overall, this is a great place to stay if you want to explore Leeds. It’s close to the city centre and great if you’re staying for a gig at the first direct arena which is about a 20 minute walk away. When we arrived, the key card machine was not working so we couldn’t have a key car for the room- wasn’t too bad as someone let us in and we were given a complimentary glass of wine so that was a lovely touch and great customer service. My only gripe is that from 7am I had a man working on the windows and the engine was turned on the whole time. It was a very noisy start to the day! I’ve left a photo of what it was just because I can’t explain it very well! There is a lovely cafe next to the hotel, something like cafe yum? The breakfast was fabulous from there. Would have had the hotel breakfast but it stopped at 10am. The hotel was very clean and the room had a hairdryer. Thanks for a lovely stay, shame about the loud engine in the morning but hopefully it doesn’t happen too often for your guests.

The hotel, if one enjoys walking, is a 10 minute walk across the footbridge, over the River Aire. However, it is not as one reviewer stated, ".. close to the train station..." At the Rhubarb Hotel in Skipton, a nice lad behind the bar showed me the pedestrian route through Leeds. Not simple and not direct. Leeds is not, unlike say Manchester and Nottingham, a "tight" city centre. There are many small streets and alleyways. The hotel reception was very friendly and after giving my Advantage Club membership number there was no hassle. The room was accessible as requested but not a walk in shower as at Travelodges. The room was cold on entry and remained so. The control for the heating does not have clear instructions and the symbols on the display are minute. No good if one has dodgy eyes. At £255, with Advantage discount it was not cheap. Breakfast is expensive, compared to a greasy spoon or Wetherspoons. We did not eat there. We did have dinner there; again not cheap; 7 Vegan meatballs as real ones not available, with sauce @£8. My handicapped son, however, enjoyed them! Chicken wings were £9, and non-skinny chips, which I had to ask for, as they only come with steaks, £5.50. I suppose a pint of Goose Midway at £5.70 was not bad. The room was clean. The bathroom was in good condition. Sainsbury's is close and an Italian restaurant. Pizza was average and garlic bread noy much garlic. No pub within short walk. In cold weather, as it was with a wind, we used taxis to go into the centre. Cheap. But Uber/Teezu/Albion not always on time. This was the number given by the hotel. They seem to have a virtual monopoly. We have stayed in the Travelodge, Vicar Lane. Not easy to find, as no obvious sign, but it is central. The Hotel is, in general, comfortable and friendly but the heating needs improvement or some decent signage.
