“Great location”
Central location for the "New Theatre", small but very clean room with a well stocked tea/coffee tray, water, etc. Immaculately clean. Up a number of stairs to access the location. Shops & Westgate shopping centre less than 10 mins walk. Friendly staff.

A friend and I went to Oxford for a 1 night stay last week. We were given room 305 which is a twin bedded room on the top floor. This is a quirky building with lots of character. Entrance is from a red door on the ground floor between 2 shops. It is straight up stairs to the small reception. The bedrooms are on that floor plus the 2 floors above. It is essential that you can walk up and down stairs. But the staff were very welcoming and helpful and immediately carried our cases up to our room, and collected them from our room the following day. I have only positive things to say about this guesthouse. The room was large with plenty of electric sockets, TV, well stocked beverage tray and kettle. The bathroom was large and modern with small toiletries provided. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. They do not do food but they gave us a card for 10% discount from the next door cafe, Theo's. My friend and I went to the cafe to check it out and ended up having our evening meal and breakfast there, plus we bought baguettes to take on the train home with us. Again, the staff there were friendly and welcoming, and the food delicious. I would recommend this guesthouse and cafe to anyone visiting Oxford.

“Ok but noisy”
The main selling point is the location. I got a late deal so wasn’t too bad but I’ve seen it for silly prices too. The room was ok but it’s not luxurious. A bit of a creaky floor. There’s a lot of noise from the street as well. Would stay again but not magnificent.

Just one caution—my room was on the 3rd floor, and the stairs are steep and winding — okay for me but not for anyone with mobility issues. I couldn't carry my heavy bag up, but the Staff were really friendly and helpful and managed my bag for me.

This is a nice little hotel a short walk from the train station. The staff is nice and they will store your luggage before you check in or out. The rooms are small, but neat and clean. The bed is comfortable. The bathroom is up to date, but incredibly tiny. Americans should note that as is typical in Europe, there are no washcloths. We bring our own old ones to use and trash. The room had a portable floor unit air conditioner that did not really cool the room. Breakfast is not included, but we were given discount coupons for the place next door. There is a pot in the room for warming water for tea or coffee. There is no elevator and the entry stairs are narrow and winding. Be sure to be in shape before tackling them. There are wider stairs to the rooms.
