Amazing boutique hotel. Booked a standard double and got upgraded to a superior double. The photos on the website don’t do it justice, the room is large with a lovely feature fireplace. Off the main room is a small sitting room with comfy chairs and another tv. The bathroom is out of this world with the biggest roll top bath and monsoon shower. The location was perfect and very central and walking distance to all the sights in Oxford. Recommend the Redbridge park and ride which was only a ten minute bus ride and dropped off 2 mins from hotel. Would highly recommended and will stay again when next in Oxford.

Spent New Years (31st Dec 2024-2nd Jan 2025) at the Vanbrugh House Hotel and it was lovely! Excellent location - just down from the shops and not too long of a walk (maybe max 5 mins?) to the main Westgate shopping centre. The staff were lovely and super accommodating - including providing flutes for the Prosecco we brought ourselves, and cutlery/plates for when we got a takeaway (rained loads one night so didn't fancy traipsing around town to find a restaurant!). We stayed in the suite which had a gorgeous bathroom (same size as the bedroom it was huge!) - two massive baths for myself and my partner to use, with a little television in the bathroom too so we could watch while in the bath. The shower was excellent too, and everything in the room was perfect. Four poster bed, super comfy and opposite a massive television which we could log into our own Netflix on. Robes and slippers too in the room! Such good value for money and a lovely feel to the place! 100% would go back.

This quaint hotel, standing in a quiet back street, is ideally located for the Oxford 'sights'. Reception was prompt and efficient, but our room, a 'standard double', was a disappointment. It was clean and well-ordered, as was the shower room, but it appears that this category comes in differing sizes and ours was small, with just space for a bed, desk, one chair and a wardrobe. It's title 'classic mini' was apt. For one night, this would have been adequate, but with nowhere for the two of us to sit other than the one chair and bed, it became tiresome. In addition, the room was somewhat hot and on opening the window, the whine from air-conditioning motors on the wall opposite was a nuisance. We found the mattress rather hard. Breakfast was minimal and had to be pre-ordered. Nothing hot other than drinks, and cheese, meat, yogurt, preserves and juices all came in their original, portioned packaging, all served in a small picnic basket. We spent time grappling with the plastic wrapping. Our overall opinion was that the hotel is rather functional, not a four-star experience.
