“Fantastic, can’t wait to return”
These guys have nailed the “themed” hotel perfectly. The decor and furnishing perfectly recreate the post tsunami trauma refuge experience. These guys have nailed the “themed” hotel perfectly. The decor and furnishing perfectly recreate the post tsunami trauma refuge experience. They have even managed to ensure that the smell of damp is pumped throughout the building to create a totally immersive experience for their guests. A particularly nice touch are the trip hazards they’ve created in the hall ways by shredding the carpet. Clearly their health and safety consultant stipulated a soft landing for guests and the owners have have managed to find a selection of faux leather very distressed sofas, similar to those often found in country lanes or on the streets on council estates to land in when you trip. This escape room element was included in the price and was a thoughtful addition to our experience. I particularly liked the 3rd world shower over bath set up. The venues decision to remove some of the key components of the taps added greatly to challenges I enjoy prior to starting my day and their lack of breakfast was a particularly nice touch and added to the post trauma immersive experience. This hotel is fantastic and provides you with the full Karachi experience without the expense or inconvenience of actually traveling there.

“Good location for a wedding venue next door”
Baylis Hotel is great location IF you are attending a wedding next door like us. Rooms tend to be small, basic & simple but it is sufficient for a very short stay. Baylis Hotel is great location IF you are attending a wedding next door like us. Rooms tend to be small, basic & simple but it is sufficient for a very short stay. The place is still under renovation – so the room we stayed is dated (see pictures) but it has AIR CON and with a borrowed fan, it helped the hot dates in August 2024. My other friend stayed in a more modern/ updated room but no Air Con. Staff are helpful and friendly. Saw a man with his young son complaining about a room and staff was very calm and polite talking to him – that customer was unreasonable, if he was not happy with the room he needed to tell the staff. Room is small and dated but location is near London – he needed to understand that. Notes to future customers – DO NOT forget to tell staff your car registration for free parking, else you will get a fine!!!! Check your room and if not happy, tell staff straight away – they have a variety of rooms & many accessories like fans and ‘cleaner’ towels. NO breakfast facilities at all – so you need to think of options, but local delivery is possible. Free & strong WIFI !!
