I stayed at the TownePlace Suites Fort Lauderdale West for the first time and was very impressed by how nice the property looked. I saw older photos and realized the hotel was recently renovated. At Check-In, I had the pleasure of working with Miss Lackaya. She was so nice! We were welcomed very nicely as she had checked-in my partner's mother earlier that day and was aware of our arrival. My other interaction with the front desk was with Maria, who helped me get a 2pm late checkout which I had requested a day after check-in. It helped me out a lot with having enough time to spend with my partner's family after his grandmother's funeral and it was greatly appreciated! The Studio Queen room we got was very spacious. I was definitely impressed that there was an oven in the room. Other Residence Inns and TownePlace Suites I've stayed at did not have this amenity, so I was very glad to see it and have kept it in mind for a future stay for situations where I may want to save some money and bringing back an oven-baked pizza to my room. I really like how the room had an L-sofa, table, a desk. The TV was adjustable and looked like it was easy to connect other HDMI devices to. The bathroom was very spacious and modern-looking. The only complaints I really had for the room was that there was a crack in the coffee pot that caused coffee to spill out everytime it's poured, an ice tray was cracked which caused water to leak, and that there was no ice maker in the freezer. However, there is an ice machine on the first floor of the building which remedies the ice maker problem. Other than that, the renovated rooms for this hotel is pretty amazing and we very clean! Amenities: This hotel has a nice small gym, small pool, and an outdoor barbecue patio area. I didn't use either, but they were there for all guests to use and gave me the impression that this hotel certainly offers a little bit of everything. Breakfast: The breakfast area was rather tiny, but the selections were alright. Compared to other TownePlace Suites and Residence Inns, it certainly lacks food items like Bacon, Spinach, and other food/drink items that I'd see at other extended stay properties within the Marriott family, but there was still a somewhat wide selection of foods and drinks to choose from. However, I did appreciate the selection of sauces like Gochujang Korean chili paste which goes great with eggs! The Orange and Apple juice machine was broken one morning, but it was really good to see another employee and Ms. Lackaya working on getting it fixed. A big and simple improvement that could be made in the breakfast dining area is possibly adding a second waffle maker? This seems to be what backs the line up for people getting breakfast. There's already a double and single toaster in the room for 3 people to use at the same time. I imagine a 2nd waffle maker will get the lines in the room moving a little faster. Overall, definitely a 5-Star stay at the TownePlace Suites Fort Lauderdale West! I had little to no complaints. The newly-renovated rooms blew my partner and I away! Affordable rates, and definitely a hidden gem in the Fort Lauderdale area. Will definitely consider staying at this property in the future!

We had to evacuate Hurricane Milton. The exemplary room made a stressful trip actually enjoyable. The room was way beyond our expectations. It was beautiful, super clean and every detail was well thought out, making it a very comfortable home away from home. All room design elements were high-end. To top it off, Tyshion, the brand new, General Manager went above and beyond to accommodate extending our stay. He had his feet to the fire with on-going renovations and the surge in hurricane evacuees, but he was kind, courteous and always wearing a smile.

Very clean! Looks like it was updated and they did a decent job except the shower had grout smears but I loved the herringbone pattern subway tile. Also, the room was VERY clean, which I appreciate when I'm traveling. It's high on my list of expectations. I do have some suggestions for improvement but I think if the hotel reads this they can fix them. First, the dishwasher wasn't working and there was a trick to flushing the toilet to make it flush properly. Also, the breakfast wasn't awesome. That said, I don't know how I'd suggest they change it. Maybe different sausage patties? I also didn't like the bed. I couldn't pull the covers up around my shoulders unless I untucked everything before I went to bed, and then they weren't long enough. Overall I didn't sleep well because of it. I also had to work remotely part of the time and the desk chair was extremely uncomfortable. And on the night of the 15th there were people being VERY loud in their rooms AND out in the hallway in front of our door and the other rooms' doors. They were so loud they woke a baby up! I was tempted to make a lot of noise outside their door early the next morning but I was courteous enough to think of the other guests who may still be sleeping since they were kept up all night by those people. It was awful, but not the hotel's fault. I should have called the front desk. Also, transportation was an issue. It's about a $30 Uber to the beach because it's so far inland, and there's not an airport shuttle or a beach shuttle, both of which would have been nice. However, since this is by FLL Executive Airport, the hotel probably isn't there for vacationers as much as it is for business travelers maybe. Those complaints seem like a lot but overall they were either things that the hotel can easily fix or things that are out of their control and could happen at any hotel (the noisy guests).
