The bar in the hotel lobby and restaurant (Osteria Positano) is excellent. We would stay there again!

I chose The Marlin Hotel because it is a boutique hotel from the Art Deco period. It turned out to be a perfect choice! So much history in the architecture of The Marlin. I arrived on February 3, 2025, for a week-long stay, around 1 PM. Although check-in is at 4 PM, my room was still being serviced. The front desk attendant, Ada, was wonderful! She stored my suitcase and belongings in the secure storage room and gave me a claim ticket. I booked their king-bed suite, which is large and includes a comfy sitting area with a large TV. The shower is beautiful and spacious, offering ample water pressure. The bathroom features a lighted mirror for close-up makeup application, as well as a flat iron and a hairdryer. The designer thought of everything for this room: two bedside lamps with an additional reading light, an espresso machine, a beach bag with two large beach towels, and a large closet hidden by a curtain. There are also snacks and a fully stocked mini refrigerator (items from the mini fridge incur an additional cost). The room is decorated in soft beiges, which creates a soothing atmosphere. As a solo traveler, I enjoy sitting at the bar for dinner. The bar area is small but offers a view of the restaurant, Osteria Positano, which is rated five stars. Lucia, the bartender, made the best chocolate martini I’ve ever had. Every staff member I encountered at the hotel was warm and welcoming. They provided recommendations for places to visit, other fantastic restaurants, and activities to do—having what felt like travel agents at my fingertips. The beach is just two blocks away from the hotel. The Marlin provides its guests with beach chairs and umbrellas. The hotel is located a block off Ocean Drive, which makes it quiet and removed from the hustle and bustle. I felt very safe during my stay. I highly recommend this hotel!

This is an Iconic Streamline Art Deco Hotel. The history of the property is incredible it was explained to us by David who wasted some of his morning, to talk to a stupid Scottish guy and his wife, that were very difficult to understand, what the hotel used to be as a recording studio. He also explained about some of the albums produced there including one incredible Santana recording. He knew everything about it and you could tell he loved working there. I have to say he should get a wage rise just on the PR job he did for the hotel. The room was excellent you couldn't have asked for more. It wasn't cheap but it also wasn't ridiculously expensive, which it could well have been considering its position, restaurant and the quality of the room.

“Great location, but many areas are average at best”
The location is perfect. The building is art deco and the restaurant is chic for the area. The location is perfect. The building is art deco and the restaurant is chic for the area. Our room (Premium Studio) on the first floor had no natural light as the window faces another building and a dirty alleyway. That's a bit depressing. The room is quite small for American standards. There is a resort fee, but the hotel doesn't have facilities. You get beach chairs, beach umbrella, beach towels and a beach bag, but that seems to be pretty much it for quite a high fee. For about $360 per night the value you get is low. We stayed at Marlin back in 2018 and the hotel was recently renovated then. Now it looks dated, a few things are broken, the standards are definitely not the same.
