This is a luxury hotel, or so it says. On previous visit things went very smoothly; howvwer this time there were a few things we noted. We really could have used a small fridge or cooler as we were there for 4 nights. Very difficult to keep drinks cold when there’s no ice on the floor; we had to have housekeeping bring it up from the bar. No fan in the toilet area….eww! Also the separate sink from the shower was strange. Not much privacy. The beds are very comfortable and the linens delicious. Great pillows. I’m comparing to a luxury hotel we stayed at in Montreal last fall, with a fridge, large room, gorgeous bathroom and exceptional staff. This Hyatt is in a perfect location, it just seemed a little lackluster on this visit. I won’t hesitate to recommend it though because it is very nice.

I try so hard not to be negative, but I want people to be informed. Normally I always read all reviews, but we stayed here back in September and it was fabulous and special, I wish two things that I read the reviews and that the hotel was forthcoming when you make a reservation. To spend money for a luxury hotel, and have a makeshift lobby, no one take the suitcases and barely greeted is a way different experience then what I expected. The lobby entrance is now on a side street with questionable people out front, no one opening the doors and garbage right outside for days. If the price was a lot less, I could understand, but to pay what we paid similar to our last stay but the experience is totally different, is horrible. The front desk person did comp us one breakfast, and took away a resort fee, but nothing else. Two of the workers both shared with us that it should state on the website upon making a reservation. Our room itself was perfectly fine. Even quiet which is a miracle in such a busy city. The staff when you do ask for something are gracious, timely and apologetic. Once the lobby renovation, next they are doing a room renovation. So after all that I am sure it will be amazing, but for the money right now, I recommend a different hotel.

“Not as advertised.”

The hotel was under renovation, which was not mentioned on any of their websites, creating a sterile atmosphere. The beautiful lobby, restaurant, and bar area shown online were nowhere to be found. However, the staff was very friendly and efficient. The room was basic but clean.
