I read a lot of reviews of other NYC hotels before booking here--so many reviews of *other hotels* were consistently negative and the reviews for this hotel stood out because they were largely positive. I too have to say that my stay at this hotel was very positive. The front desk keeps everything moving and check in was fast and easy. I was surprised by the daily $35 "destination charge," but it seems that all the city hotels are tacking on this charge. My room was clean and the common spaces were also well-maintained. This hotel is near the subway, so getting around is easy. The location is great, for reference, we were able to walk to MOMA in 15-20 minutes. I am a woman who was traveling with her daughter and we found the hotel to be in a safe area and felt comfortable walking back at 10 pm. I was on a high floor and the elevators were the fastest I've ever experienced. No waiting! If you are a business traveler and need to work from the hotel lobby, this might not be the place for you as the lobby consists of just a sofa and a few chairs. There is a restaurant, but the tables are for those who are dining, so not a good work set up. The luggage room was very efficient and convenient. Exercise room was good and had multiple working Pelotons. If you stay here, bring ear plugs (or go across the street to the CVS) and use the white noise app on your phone. We could hear people talking (loudly) in the hallway and guests allowed their doors to slam behind them--not the hotel's fault. There was also some street noise. My stay at this hotel was very pleasant and the very few things that I did not like, are minor and are not enough to make me stay someplace else. Highly recommend!

Wow! What an incredible experience at the Westin Grand Central. From the moment that Diedre checked us in to Leon helping us with our luggage and some local advice to the well appointed room, we couldn’t ask for more. Diedre said you are staying at the nicest hotel in NYC and by the end of our stay, we believe it. All employees made us feel special and we do appreciate that. To cap things off, Doorman Hector was super impressive and attentive. We will definitely be back to NYC to visit our son and we found our new home when we arrive! I was at the Westin New York Grand Central for five nights in late January, and it was another stellar stay at this property. It was a mixed use trip- business and personal, and I felt very well taken care of. From the moment I checked in, the front-of-the-house management and the front desk went out of their way to accommodate my requests, and I was way more than satisfied. With people like front office manager Irina Borukhov (who ensured that I had the best room/stay possible), and front desk persons Lily by day and Rhonda by night (who made sure the high standard was maintained throughout my stay), I was made to feel that returning to my home town of NYC truly was a return to home! They made sure my five-night stay got off on the right foot and stayed there throughout my time. In addition, the bar staff comprised of Kate, Gil and Amy are professional and customer-oriented, resulting in bonus relaxation time when I needed to have a cocktail or grab a bite at the bar. In addition, the concierge team, including Eve, took care of everything I asked of them. The thing is: I prefer Westin New York Grand Central because it is a large hotel with the large hotel services I want, but with a friendliness that is unmatched at any "boutique" hotel claiming to provide "personalized' service. I honestly don't know how they do it but they do it! One previous flaw was the consistency of service level provided by Housekeeping, but recent management changes in the department, including the promotion of Doomey (sp?), a former front office manager who is now Head of Housekeeping, have turned things around tremendously in that area. Lastly, I want to give a shout-out to the servers at breakfast, who by definition are staffed such that it is crazy at the peak times. Paola and the other servers, as well as the hosts, take what might otherwise be a turbulent morning crush and make it an organized beginning to this guest's day. Thank you to everyone at the Westin New York Grand Central who takes the tumult of arriving from the airport and turns it into a welcome mat of smiles and professionalism unmatched in the NYC hotel world, thus putting a smile on my face that lasts throughout my stay. General Manager John Sinclair, you should be extremely proud of everyone on your team throughout the property, and of yourself for training and coordinating them to care about the guests as much as they do. It absolutely shows in their work! I look forward to seeing everyone again on my next trip "coming home" to New York! - Jeff Tischler

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Westin New York Grand Central! From the moment I arrived, everything—from the front desk to room service—was exceptional. As soon as I stepped onto the 26th floor, I was blown away by the amazing scent, and when I entered my room, I was beyond impressed. It was spotless! As a self-proclaimed neat freak, I can always tell when something is truly clean, and this was perfection. A special shoutout to Nevillu, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was nothing short of amazing. The breakfast selection was also fantastic. I will definitely be returning with my family.
