“Respite at the Westin”

Very nice stay at the Westin, Nov. 1-3, 2024. I arrived by train so I appreciated the short walk to the hotel. No customers at check in so I breezed through. I received a Welcome message earlier that as a Marriott Bonvoy member I could use the mobile app to check in and receive a mobile key prior to arrival. This would be good for tired or impatient travelers. Also, only staying two nights, I appreciated being able to opt out of the daily housekeeping; if I were staying longer I could choose which days to receive services. The elevator - a new frontier. My difficulty overcome by a demonstration from the patient night porter. Press your floor in the keypad, your car letter announced, on the elevator jamb your floor number illuminates so you can double check that you are in the correct car. Late in Friday, early out Sunday, full day Saturday so not much time was spent in the room. Located on the 25th floor I had a wonderful city view. The room was clean and stocked. The bathroom had all the usual amenities, a rain water shower head and hand held unit, water instantly adjusted to temperature. A plus for a longer stay was the clothesline in the shower. Coffee maker, coffee and tea, water, a mini-fridge. There was a huge safe good for those bringing laptops. Ironing board, iron which I did not use and two luggage racks. Unless you are real clothes hog there was ample storage and hangers for two. The bed and pillows comfortable with an end table between them holding the phone, lamp, and alarm clock. A good size desk with plenty of work space and comfortable chair. There was a single upholstered chair with a small square coffee table. I ate in the Bill's Bar and Burger, good service, Sports Bar vibe, food good. I had a burger cooked as I asked, a quick after concert bite. I wouldn't hesitate to book here again.

Rainy Friday evening arrival ,but a warm genuine welcome from the young man at the front desk , quick hassle free registration. Off to the elevator to select my floor and wait to be directed to either elevator ABC or D . I was on the 10th floor . Given a double room , clean and quiet as it was an end room with no adjoining room on one side ! Good wifi connection/ signal . Well equipped room with plenty of sockets for adapters and USBs . Nice shower , warm to hot and reasonably powerful although shower/ bath floor was not non slip !. Comfortable bed , good sleep, nice soft pillows. I used the fitness center on the 4th floor , well equipped. Also had a delicious burger at Bills Burger situated in the lobby. Hotel is in a good location if you like me like walking and exploring, you can also jog and cycle. Lots of bars / restaurants nearby plus there i is a Target and CVS nearby. Nice Hotel , friendly staff

Pros - (1) Clean and modern feel. (2) Spacious room and bathroom. (3) Close to a lot of places i need to be. (4) Lots of food options for room service. Pros - (1) Clean and modern feel. (2) Spacious room and bathroom. (3) Close to a lot of places i need to be. (4) Lots of food options for room service. (5) Bill’s Bar and Burger with entrance at hotel’s lobby. Cons - for Marriott loyalist, quite a lot of disappointments. (1) If you are looking for hotel lounge that is common to Westin brand, this one disappoints cause it does not have one. 2) Upon checkin, i was asked to choose between 1000 points and breakfast. I asked what kind of breakfast it is and I was told it is just bagels. (3) free water is not even bottled.
