My wife and I recently completed a three-night stay at this lovely hotel. Good location right on the river. Walking along the river to your left, there's a Spaghetti Factory restaurant about seven minutes to your left and a small cafe even closer, plus I understand (though did not look for) other restaurants in the apartment/residential area beyond that. To the right, the pretty path goes for a few miles, mostly along the river. The hotel stlaff is friendly and helpful. The room was fine. We paid a bit extra for the river view with a patio. I'd recommend that, including a room with a covered patio if possible, if you're in Portland during a rainy time of year (which is often). The room was spacious enough. It had a coffee machine as well as a microwave and frig (not stocked). And a small desk, Also, the one we booked had a pull-out couch. Good USB and outlet connections. The lobby has several seating/chatting areas. It flows into the restaurant, which has a fairly basic but decent breakfast and dinner menu. For the former, you order at the counter though they bring it to your table. For the latter, I'm not sure if there's wait staff service that takes your order. The dinner menu is mainly salads, sandwiches, burgers and the like, though there was a salmon option. There's also a secluded seating nook with a few chairs at the end of the hallway on the second floor, overlooking the lobby. Off of the lobby, there's also a decently stocked pantry with ice cream, other snacks, several microwavable items and a few choices of white and red wines. I don't know Portland geography well, but the hotel seems well situated for accessing various roads, including being five minutes from I-5. Also near the Oregon Health and Science University and associated hospital. As a Hilton Gold, I got a $15 per person credit, good for the restaurant and pantry area. There seemed to be several low-lying commercial buildings in the immediate area, which was quite quiet. It's not downtown, which means it doesn't have downtown's options and potential hassles. The only possible fly in the oinment was that on a couple of our night we heard some chatter from either an adjoining room or upstairs. So maybe thin walls? But maybe unusually loud neighbors. With ear plugs, they were no problem. Regardless, we very much liked our stay and wouldn't hesitate to return.

“Outstanding 5 night stay!”
We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 night stay here. We also had a second room (for 2 nights) booked for our adult son. We were in room 436 (a river view suite) and it was perfect. Room not only had a beautiful view, it had a fireplace, separate deep soaking tub, double vanities and W/C with a door. Best room we have had in a long time. Hillary at the front desk helped us with numerous issues - including the fact that my son’s flight got cancelled. Housekeeping was on top of their game, perfectly servicing our room daily. Although you have to pay for parking, it is a large, well lit lot right next to hotel. Felt very safe. Slight downside was the breakfast offering. Not many choices, very slow service, small portions. There was just a single young gal working…taking orders, making speciality coffees, delivering orders & bills. Poor gal worked her tail off! Highly recommend! Will definitely stay here again.

To be honest the property is really nice. The rooms are reasonably appointed, and pricing is competitive. That being said, we've had nothing but bad interactions with the staff each time we have stayed. The first stay we asked the person who check us in if a late check out was possible, and we were told they would put us on the list. In the morning the cleaning staff knocked on the door anyway and we told them we had a late check out. Moments later the phone rang, and it was the front desk saying that they only provide late check out's if they aren't too busy, and we didn't call to make sure that morning. That wasn't part of the conversation from the night attendant, and the morning person was really snarky about it. Our second stay seemed to be without incident until a few days later when we received a $29 charge on our card after our stay. When we checked in we were told there would be a $50 hold on our card for incidentals, which seems smaller than what we are charged at other hotels so that was nice. However, apparently when you sign the normal paperwork to accept responsibility for the room and let them know what you are driving, you are also signing for a $29 charge for parking that they don't tell you about. To be clear, I understand being charged for parking, but to not tell someone up front is kind of shady. I shouldn't have to see it on a bill and need to call you for clarification. If you let me know it's coming then I don't have to feel like I got scammed, or that someone else's charges might have accidentally been charged to me. The other part that was bad was when we did call to find out about the charge, the attendant notified me it was for parking. When I told her it had not been articulated to us that there would be a charge for parking she started talking over me and became defensive stating, "well we've been charging for parking for 4 years, so you should have known, and it's on the paperwork you sign." Getting so defensive so quickly just shows to me this is something they likely get to hear often, likely because they don't communicate the charge to people consistently. This staff need some training. Two stays and both times ended in a less than courteous interaction with staff.
