The front desk manager (Michael) and the general manager (Tyeonna) at the Holiday Inn Express on Military Highway in Norfolk, VA were awesome!! The front desk manager (Michael) and the general manager (Tyeonna) at the Holiday Inn Express on Military Highway in Norfolk, VA were awesome!! The driver of the car I rode in from the airport to the hotel left with my luggage ( including a computer, iPad, chargers, etc). And my phone had just run out of juice. Tyeonna and Michael to the rescue. They gave me a charger for my phone, looked at video of when I arrived, let me use the front desk phone to reach out to the driver and basically kept me calm. The driver returned the luggage and all ended well. Cannot give enough praise to these to wonderful employees at the Holiday Inn Express.

We spent one night here, not because of any issue with the hotel, but our plans changed. Overall, the hotel was nice. It is in a very busy area, but the room overall was still quiet. The room had plenty of space and the beds were comfortable. We actually had a very spacious room with the bedroom separate from the rest of the room. There was a small kitchenette (microwave, Keurig coffee maker, minifridge with freezer). There was a nice desk and sofa in the main room. There were two minor issues we experienced, and it seemed to be for the entire hotel. The water pressure seems low. I noticed this not just in the room, but the bathroom by the workout room, so it did not seem related just to our room. Also, it seemed to take a really long time for hot water to get to the room. Longer than we have experienced at other hotels we have stayed at recently. As a note, we did end up changing due to a misunderstanding about the pet policy. While the hotel showed up on a IHG site search for "pet friendly" hotels, when we checked in, they mentioned a no pet policy. I mentioned the site and they said that was for service animals only and documentation was needed. We did not have a pet, but our daughter and her family were flying back from out of the country and had made a reservation thinking they could bring their pets. So, they made reservations at another location, and we changed to that hotel.
